Note:
Up to 24 MiG-29 aircraft were in service of the German Air Force from 1991 to 2004. Before 1991 the aircraft were part of the East-German Air Force (NVA Luftstreitkräfte, DDR). In 2002 all these aircraft were sold to Poland; No. 29+16 was transferred to the Polish Air Force in September 2003. The last flight of a German Air Force MiG-29 was in July 2004. The 73rd Fighter Wing at Laage is now flying the Eurofighter/Typhoon.
